My research interests include the application of learning and memory research to education. I am particularly interested in the use of repeated retrieval, or testing, to enhance learning. I am also interested in metacognition – how students monitor their own learning and memory.
I investigate the benefits of studying and testing. Current projects include comparing the effects of testing and elaborative study techniques on long term retention, examining how various testing formats affect learning and memory, and investigating how the timing and ordering of study and test trials influence long-term retention. |
