Meghan McDarby is a graduate student in Dr. Brian Carpenter's Clinical Geropsychology Laboratory. Her primary research interests include enhancing end of life (EOL) decision making among older adults and improving communication about end-of-life care preferences among older adults, their caregivers, and healthcare providers. She is broadly interested in ways to increase quality of EOL care by facilitating earlier access to palliative care services and by optimizing psychological care at EOL. Meghan is currently working on a project that will evaluate the effectiveness of a self-administered mindfulness meditation intervention to reduce psychological distress in late stage cancer patients.
