Educational Psychology

PSYCHOLOGICAL & BRAIN SCIENCES 304

A course on how theory and research from psychological science can be applied to facilitate learning in educative contexts. We will examine the process of learning through a variety of different lenses, including cognitive, developmental, sociocultural, and behaviorist perspectives. Topics include higher-order thinking, motivation, correcting misconceptions, metacognition, self-regulation, assessment, and educational technology. Enrollment Note: Undergraduate students must enroll in Educ. 304. Graduate students must obtain approval of instructor and their advisor before enrolling in Educ. 5004.
