Elizabeth Kensinger
Bio: Elizabeth Kensinger is Professor and Chairperson of Psychology & Neuroscience at Boston College, where she directs the Cognitive & Affective Neuroscience Laboratory. She received her PhD in neuroscience at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University and the Massachusetts General Hospital. Her research laboratory investigates many aspects of human memory, including how emotion, stress, and sleep affect memory, and how memory strengths shift as adults age. She has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, and she co-authored (with Dr. Andrew Budson) the 2023 book Why We Forget and How to Remember Better: The Science Behind Memory.
