Colloquium - Promoting relational well-being among people of diverse sexual, gender, and relationship orientations

Joanne Davila, Ph.D. Department of Psychology Stony Brook University

Abstract: Extensive data indicate that what happens in people’s romantic relationships is central to their well-being. Yet we still lack sufficient appreciation for the skills needed for romantic competence and for the need to teach those skills to people, as well as an understanding of the needs and strengths of different people and communities. In this talk, Dr. Davila will discuss her work on understanding and promoting relational well-being – specifically romantic well-being – among people of diverse sexual, gender, and relationship orientations.
