Introduction to Psychology

PSYCHOLOGICAL & BRAIN SCIENCES 100B

A survey and analysis of concepts, theory, and research covering the areas of physiological psychology, human development, learning, memory, social, sensorypsychology, and mentaldisorders and their treatment.This is a general survey course designed to introduce students to the diversity of areas, approaches, and theories that comprise the study of mind and behavior. Psych 100B is required of all majors and is prerequisite to all upper-level courses in Psychology. Open to first-years. NOTE: For first-years and sophomore students enrolled in Psych 100B, or have an AP Psych 5, IB 6 or 7, or British A-Level A who are interested in exploring controversial issues in Psychology within a seminar format, see the companion course, Psych 102, First-Year Opportunity: Contemporary Issues in Psychology.
