Description

Provides expertise in support of research projects in social science, behavioral science, or humanities, includingpsychology, sociology, education, etc. Performs advanced testing procedures, data collection, and analysis.Prepares reports. May work with human subjects and contribute to grant proposal development. Ensuresexperiments are performed according to specifications. May make recommendations to changes in procedure,processes, or experimental design. May prepare and/or edit research papers, proposals and reports.Understandsand applies fundamental theoretical concepts. Develops understanding of advanced theoretical concepts.Duties:Work is varied and somewhat difficult. Originality and ingenuity is required.Supervision: Receives direct supervisionreferring complex situation to higher levels.

Additional Job Information

The RESTORE Lab at the University of Houston is looking to hire an energetic and motivated Social ScienceResearcher to assist with the coordination and execution of clinical research related to health disparities, chronicdisease, and addiction. This position would cover a broad range of responsibilities, notably: helping lead recruitmentand outreach efforts for the lab as a whole, aiding with different studies currently underway in the lab as needsdevelop, overseeing undergraduate and post-bac research assistants, and coordinating a major NIH-funded clinicaltrial that will test an app designed to help African American individuals with HIV quit smoking. Strong writing,analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential to succeed in this position. Prior research experience is required.
