Full-Time Research Assistant Position
in the Behavioral Medicine & Health Psychology Lab of Dr. Kenneth Tercyak
Spring/Summer - 2024
Consider joining our team to train on NIH-funded child/adolescent/family health psychology and behavioral medicine research projects. We study lifestyle-based cancer risks, prevention, behavior change, and psychological aspects of cancer risk, treatment, and survivorship. We are hiring a full-time entry-level research staff member in spring/summer 2024, with a post-baccalaureate salary and benefits package. Job Responsibilities:
· Assisting with health and behavior research studies
· Recruiting and enrolling study participants
· Coordinating behavioral intervention trials, scheduling and tracking participants
· Online survey data collection, management, and processing
· Supervising undergraduate student workers
· Assisting with preparing and editing data reports and scholarly works
· Collaborating with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to maintain research compliance
· Initiating and overseeing contractual agreements with study vendors
Research Opportunities Offered:
· Gain experience with applied, clinical, community, and online health and behavior research studies
· Contribute to research presentations and publications
· Collaborating with health professionals from multiple disciplines (psychology, medicine, genetic counseling, nursing)
· Research skill-building for graduate or professional school in psychology, public health, or medicine
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (by time of start), with interest in and/or prior experience with clinical (human subjects) research; two-year minimum commitment, with option of longer-term.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of and experience in working with: IRBs; database and statistical software (e.g. REDCap, Microsoft Excel, SPSS); academic research in clinical and/or community settings; coursework in social-behavioral sciences.
