Kelsey Baller
Kelsey is a clinical psychology student in Denise Head's lab. Previously, she was a post-bacc research assistant at the University of Iowa with Dr. Michelle Voss where she primarily focused on understanding how white matter lesions in the brain impact cognition and the various mechanisms at play in their development. In Dr. Head's lab she is excited to continue looking at modifiable lifestyle factors, such as sleep and exercise, that can slow or prevent cognitive decline throughout the aging process. She also looks forward to adding a component of spatial navigation to her aging research. Kelsey also has a special interest in neuropsychology and could see herself being a clinical neuropsychologist at an academic medical center working with patients and researching. Aside from graduate study duties, Kelsey spends her days getting in a Pilates session or running, walking her dog, and tending to her 40+ plants.
