Derek Alexander Simon

Graduate Student

Derek is a graduate student in Dr. Joshua Jackson’s Personality Measurement and Development Lab (PMaD Lab). His main research interests focus on the contextualization of personality, looking at the interaction between the person and the situation to understand behavior and at how personality is expressed in daily life. Specifically, he aims to examine how socio-cultural factors impact personality states. Before joining the PMaD Lab, Derek earned his B.S. in Psychology at the University of Florida and was the lab manager of Dr. Erin Westgate’s Florida Social Cognition & Emotion Lab.
