Jessica Hahne
Jessica Hahne is a graduate student in Brian Carpenter’s Clinical Geropsychology Lab. Her research focuses on clinician-family-patient communication and decision-making in cancer and end-of-life care. Particularly in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, she is interested in the increasingly prominent effects of technology, such as patient portals and electronic forms of informed consent, on medical communication and decision-making. Prior to coming to Washington University in St. Louis, Jessica obtained a B.A. in English Language and Literature from Yale College and an M.P.H. from the Yale School of Public Health. She also taught English as a second language in China for three years, worked as a non-profit public health program coordinator with the Yale-China Association, and assisted with research on end-of-life care at Weill Cornell Medicine.Â
