Karuna Thomas

Graduate Student

Karuna is a graduate student in Brian Carpenter's Clinical Geropsychology lab. She is interested in the cultural and emotional aspects of family caregiving experiences, and how this relates to communication among older adults and their families. Prior to coming to Washington University in St. Louis, Karuna completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at HELP University, Malaysia, and her MSc in Gerontology at the University of Southampton, United Kingdom, after which she was involved in teaching courses related to aging and family relationships at a private university in Malaysia.
