The Stanford Memory Lab is seeking applicants for a full-time Research Assistant position. Located in the Department of Psychology on the Stanford Campus, the lab specializes in human neuroimaging studies of memory and cognition, and how these functions are affected by aging. For the latter, we conduct research in collaboration with the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences & Stanford Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC).

The Research Assistant will be responsible for the recruitment of healthy older adult participants from the community, the coordination and scheduling of participant visits, providing informed consent, conducting visits in the clinical environment with healthy volunteers, administering and scoring neuropsychological testing for those volunteers, and engaging in collection and analysis of neuroimaging data. The Research Assistant will be tasked with: a) updating and maintaining a large database of participant health information, b) establishing and maintaining professional correspondence with all current and prospective research participants, c) planning and executing research visits in concert with supporting research staff and Stanford Medical School faculty, d) administering and scoring neuropsychological testing batteries for healthy participants, and e) assisting research staff with collection and analysis of structural and functional MRI data.

Competitive applicants for this position will be patient, detail-oriented, professional, punctual, articulate, independent, personable and engaging. Recent graduates with a strong interest in cognitive neuroscience and aging research are preferred. Competitive applicants  will have experience in three or more of the following areas: Neuroimaging, geriatric care, database management, telephone correspondence, neurosciences or psychology research, clinical research, or office administration. Due to requirements for neuropsychological testing administrators, applicants must speak English natively.  A minimum 2 year commitment is expected.
