Do you have a passion for working with children and teens to help them emotionally and academically? The Clinical Child and School Psychology graduate program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is now accepting applications until January 15th for its fall 2020 cohort. As a premier school psychology program in the Midwest, our program was established in 1970 and has been fully accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists since 1999. We are one of only a handful of combined clinical child and school psychology programs in the nation and anticipated many developments in the field. As many students are concerned about rising student debt, it is important to know that we typically offer most, if not all, of our incoming first year students an assistantship that comes with a full tuition waiver. Our program includes two tracks: the Clinical Child track and School Psychology track. Students in the Clinical Child track will be prepared to work with children, adolescents, and their families in the health system and other community agencies, and are well-prepared to pursue doctoral education at other universities. The School Psychology track prepares students for further education and training in the specialist degree program in school psychology at SIUE, which makes them eligible for certification as school psychologists in Illinois and most other states.
Our program has a number of strengths, including hosting two clinics unique to the St. Louis region, which are the Attention & Behavior Clinic (ABC) and the Comprehensive Autism Spectrum Evaluation (CASE). SIUE’s school psychology graduate program was also recently ranked seventh in the nation in scholarly productivity.
