Abhishek Dey is a graduate student in Julie Bugg's Cognitive Control and Aging Lab. Abhishek is conducting research in cognitive control and is investigating two forms of control - reactive control and proactive control. Reactive control is a bottom-up automatic form of cognitive control that is guided by the environment. Proactive control is a top-down form of cognitive control and is guided by goals we set. Abhishek is interested in understanding the mechanisms behind these forms of control and how they intersect and manifest behaviorally and cognitively.
